He is a graduate of Morgan State University, 1981 and The Wesley Theological Seminary, 1987.

For the past 20+ years, he has worked at Project P.L.A.S.E (People Lacking Ample Shelter and Employment) in Baltimore, Md. For 7 years he worked at The University of Maryland Medical System as Chaplain for the Palliative Care Team, 2000-2007.

He is the Author of 2 previous books: Rhythms of My Heart, 2005 and My Soul Cries Out: The Making of a Freethinker, 2010. He has lectured in New York and Washington, D.C.
